Product Description
The Anti Damp Vent is a revolutionary solution to moisture problems in buildings. Unlike traditional passive vents, our patented design uses wind power to create active suction. As air passes into our uniquely shaped vent, it speeds up and creates a powerful vacuum that literally sucks moisture out of your walls - providing forward motion to escaping water vapor instead of the backward resistance found in standard vents.
Key Benefits
- Prevents mold and mildew growth
- Protects structural integrity of your building
- Improves indoor air quality
- Enhances energy efficiency by maintaining effective insulation
- Works with even slight breezes
- Functions during severe weather conditions
How It Works
The Anti Damp Vent works like a turbo-charger for your walls. When wind hits the specially designed shape of our vent, it creates a low-pressure zone that pulls air and moisture from inside the cavity. Think of it like how a chimney draws smoke up and out - our vents draw damp air out sideways. This continuous extraction prevents the buildup of moisture that causes mold, structural damage, and makes your insulation less effective.

Installation Instructions
NHBC Guidelines & Building Regulations
- DPC Level: 1 vent every 900mm (4 bricks)
- Above Lintels & Cavity Trays: 1 vent every 450mm (2 bricks)
- Optimal Coverage: 1 vent per 2m² of wall area
New Build Installation
- Mark vent positions according to building regulations spacing
- Place Anti-Damp Vents between bricks during construction
- Ensure vents are flush with external wall face
- Verify full contact with cavity space
- Bed in mortar as normal bricklaying practice
Retrofit Installation
Required Tools:
- 10mm masonry drill bit
- 8mm diameter x 100mm mortar rake
- Hammer drill and safety equipment
- Identify existing weep vents or mark new positions
- Drill out perpend joints with 10mm masonry bit
- Use mortar rake to clean opening (minimum 100mm deep)
- Ensure opening reaches cavity without damaging DPC/cavity trays
- Insert Anti-Damp Vent flush with wall surface
- Check level and apply sealant if needed for secure fit
Stack Effect Enhancement (Optional)
For maximum moisture extraction:
- Install matching vents at ceiling level (same spacing as DPC)
- Use inlet plugs on upper vents for directional airflow
- Creates natural convection current through cavity
Safety Warning
Always wear safety equipment and check for cables/pipes before drilling. Take extreme care not to damage DPC, cavity trays, or lintels. Consider professional installation for complex retrofits.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many vents do I need?
Following NHBC guidelines, install 1 vent every 900mm (4 bricks) along the DPC, and 1 vent every 450mm (2 bricks) above lintels and cavity trays. For optimal results, we recommend 1 vent per 2m² of wall area.
Do the vents work in all weather conditions?
Yes, Anti-Damp Vents work in all conditions. They're most effective in windy weather but create some airflow even in still conditions. The design prevents rain ingress even in driving rain.
Will the vents affect my wall insulation?
Anti-Damp Vents actually improve insulation effectiveness by keeping it dry. Damp insulation can lose up to 186.7% of its effectiveness. Dry insulation performs at its rated capacity.
Do the vents require maintenance?
No, Anti-Damp Vents are completely passive and require no power supply or maintenance. They operate using natural wind power and are designed to last the lifetime of the building.
Will the vents let in cold air?
No, Anti-Damp Vents actually reduce heat loss by keeping walls dry. The small amount of air movement in the cavity doesn't affect room temperature but prevents the much greater heat loss caused by damp walls.
Are the vents covered by warranty?
Yes, Anti-Damp Vents come with a 10-year manufacturer's warranty against defects. They're designed to last the lifetime of the building with no maintenance required.
